ABOUT VAKYAMAYA
Namaskarah, I am Suhani, a Doctoral Researcher based in Bangalore, and Vakyamaya is the name given to this inward archive of research and writing. Vakya means words; Maya means illusion. Together, they name a paradox that has long drawn me: the uncanny life of language, its power to reveal and to veil, to summon meaning even as it leaves it trembling at the edge of uncertainty. Words do not merely describe the world; they refract it, haunt it, and sometimes remake it. They give form to memory, contour to loss, and voice to what history leaves in fragments, even as they remind us that nothing yielded through language is ever entirely conclusive.
It is within this landscape that my work resides, among literature, folklore, and the afterlives of memory. Vakyamaya is thus not only a title, but a proposition: that thought itself is shaped by the radiance and instability of words, and that meaning often appears most truthfully in the flicker between utterance and illusion.
